Begin to Authentically Let Love in. Episode 16 of 30
Ways that Technology has changed my job.
Technology change in the workplace has advantages and disadvantages.
Disadvantages are:
The strain and wear and tear on the human body has increased tremendously. The employers have totally forgotten that the human body can never keep up with a machine. Some of these jobs have assembly lines that don’t stop. Management will treat you bad if you have any kind of defaults when performing the job. if it is a machine issue that is transpired by technology, they will get mad at the machine operator.
If the machine malfunctions it can be life or death for the employee. I have heard about so many incidents.
Technology has caused the employer to devalue the employee even though they need them to operate the machines.
When the machines break down the work stops. So, this leads to employees working long hours to make up for lost time.
Advantages
Technology does have advantages also. Alot of paperwork has been eliminated.
Technology has given small business owners more ways to reach people.
Online boutiques are really reaping the benefits of online shopping.
Even at this very moment I am reaching people that would probably never meet in person.
Technology has helped a lot of introverts make a profitable living online.
When Covid hit a few years ago the world was solely dependent on technology.
I love how technology has helped me.
Intro to my podcast
How often do I say no?
Is It ok to always say no? I believe that whenever something goes against your well-being in such a way that it affects you mentally, emotionally, and physically it is always ok to say no. IF YOU DON’T BE AN ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF…. WHO ELSE WILL?
I used to avoid saying no to people, and it usually left me heartbroken or mad at myself because my intuition was warning me, but I would almost always look over it. When I got tired of feeling that feeling of regret I started to change. The ultimate change didn’t come until I had my son who totally needed me to come out of my shell and stand ten toes down for him. I literally had to become an advocate for him up against some powerful people. It was odd but at the same time not odd to me that I saw how bad he needed me to stand up for him, but I couldn’t see that I needed to do that for me.
My son was a part of my life for 24 years. He gave me a voice. He impacted my life in so many positive ways. God made little meek quite me an advocate over his tiny life when I was 24 years old. Ironically, he gave me 24 years to get it right. I am forever grateful for the experience. I miss my child so much. Continue to Rest In Peace my sweet baby boy. I am Thankful for all the lessons.
I said all of that to say this. Find your strength. Know that it is always ok to stand up for yourself. If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.
Influential Teachers
Who was your most influential teacher? Why?
I had so many influential teachers throughout my life that I can not specifically name one. Not only were they great teachers, they made me feel excited about learning! All the way from kindergarten through college! They saw my potential! My first teacher was Mr. Jimmy Wilder. He was my head start teacher. And My College English Comp Teacher was Mrs. Marilyn Ford. Teachers really do set the foundation for the lives of many people.
